Welcome to ‘The Year Of Health.’  This will be a catalogue of one couple’s attempts to get healthy over the space of exactly one year.  During this time we will be keeping you up to date with all of our successes and our failures, our hopes and fears when it comes to revolutionising one’s entire approach to life.

At this point the saner amongst you may well be asking yourselves exactly why two seemingly normal people would be interested in splashing private and intimate details about themselves on the Internet, for everyone to see.  The main reason for us to do this is as inspiration.  For one thing it’s one thing to let yourselves down, it’s quite another to let down the tens of thousands of readers we hope to collect over the course of the year. Or at the very least, the tens.

To this end, we actively encourage your participation in this.  Feel free to leave comments to add anything you like, be it encouragement, recipe ideas or advice.  We’re taking this very seriously, so we need you to keep us going.  Where things work, we will tell you about them, when they don’t we’ll be doing the same.

The experiment itself will be launching on January 1^st 2010, and by December the 31^st we hope to have achieved all that we have set out to do.  Each of us has our own personal gains, so to find out a little bit more about each of us and why we are doing this, visit our pages at the top.

At the moment we’re not entirely sure how we’re going to be doing this, but one thing is for sure, we won’t be spending a huge amount of money to do it.  When we do try things that cost money, we will be rating them for you, but by necessity (we’re not exactly rolling in the cash) most of what we do will be done using what we have available, or what’s cheap.

This whole thing will require a certain amount of brutal honesty about our lives, so we hope that you will stick with us throughout to see how it goes.  Come January 1^st we will both be walking into an unknown world for both of us.
